How to Plan Your High School Reunion
I bet you’re thinking one of two things:
- Groan. A high school reunion? Is anyone actually going? or
- It’s been how many years already?
Either way, I bet no one wants to plan it. That leaves you, you stud. And that’s why you’re here.
I got your back. Let’s do this.
I always wondered why no one ran against me for the esteemed position of Class President senior year. Turns out they were much smarter than me, because the prez is generally expected to plan at least the first reunion. We held a 10-year reunion and now I’m planning the 20-year. Our first was much harder because we started from scratch; if you can jump that hurdle, you’ll be golden. And I’ll tell you a secret: people showed up, and we actually had a great time.
With that in mind, I see three ways to plan a reunion:
- The really easy way
- The manageable way
- The hard way
I’m happy to report I started on #3 and am working my way backwards.
Regardless of the path you choose, when you’re first starting, you’ll need to take a few critical steps. Start planning 6–12 months in advance to give yourself a reduced-stress journey.
